I love your videos Jason, I'm so glad I stumbled back onto them again.

Your tip about rubbing your fingers against steel is a good one. The organosulfur compounds in garlic that give it the distinct smell and taste that we all know and love (except for the smelling part) slowly break down in air. The iron in steel serves as a catalyst to speed up this process and causes the chemicals to decompose faster. Hydrogen Peroxide also works well (skunk spray is similar, and H2O2 also works there).

@5gorgeous You can also use a stainless steel mixing bowl.

Jason! This totally makes sense now! At Crate & Barrel they sell stainless steal bars in the shape of a soap bar. It confused the heck out of me, but it just all clicked now! hahaha! Thanks!

you learn something new everyday. Its really cool to know that part of the world. Garlic is the most potent. You can get the smell on your clothes and its hard to get it off. Great video.

Hey, I just made a maranara sauce with lots of garlic and onions. I just wet my hands and rubbed my hands around the s/s sink and it really works!! Odor was gone in seconds.

@pedroeph Sounds like that should work as well! The trick is the stainless steel. Just don't cut yourself!

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned already but this also works with onions which was a life saver. A single hand peeled onion = a day and a half of rank fingers. Blech.
