Cancellation/Refunds
Although your vehicle service contract will best serve you if it is kept to term, we understand that sometimes cancellation is necessary. If, then, for any reason you must cancel your vehicle service contract, you may do so by dialing 888-222-4445, and selecting the Option 2 for Customer Service. Please have your vehicle's current mileage, and your contract number ready.
When you call to cancel, our agent will request your vehicle's current mileage, your contract number, and your reason for requesting cancellation. Although you may cancel for any reason, our representative may ask you why you wish to cancel. If it is because of dissatisfaction with the contract, we will offer to help to achieve satisfaction for you. Customer satisfaction is our number one goal.
Any payments due after the date the date that you canceled will not be taken. After your cancellation is requested, we will notify Mepco, the payment processor (if you are still making payments), and the contract administrator to advise them of your cancellation request. Any refund due will be sent to you by check in about 90 days. In any refund and cancellation there are multiple companies involved: AA auto protection, the contract administrator, and Mepco. If you are on a payment plan, and it is not completed, then all three of these companies are involved. That is why the refund process is lengthy. Specifically, once the administrator is notified of the cancellation, it must return funds to Mepco, then Mepco transmits funds our accounting department, and from there your refund is sent. If the payment plan is no longer active, or the contract was paid in full, then Mepco is no longer involved, but the contract administrator and AA Auto Protection still are.
In all cases, cancellations and refunds follow the procedure presented in the vehicle service contracts that we offer. If you have any questions about the cancellation process, please contact customer service at AA auto protection.
