I did this with PHP, but I've never tried this with Python. Do you guys have any tips in terms of Python databases? (specifically passwords)

I think this can be a terrible idea for a beginner. Unless you don’t flip that switch, and you keep it offline, you’re potentially dealing with very important and sensitive user data. If your code isn’t almost 100% foolproof, someone will find a way to break it and cause damage (likely stealing user data). And one data leak means customers have to potentially change tens of passwords id they use the same one. Applications like this should really be pen tested before exposed to the internet. Now, a little offline app that’s essentially “fake” but still has all the functionality just offline, could still be a good resume project.
