Sorting Lego never ends does it...

Just a quick update to my sorting nightmare. It's such a slow process and feels like I'm spinning my wheels. Slowly but surely making some progress on sorting my Lego collection and getting more organized... did I mention slowly?

We all have these "bins of shame" to be honest. This motivates me to sort mine.

My sorting cycles; it’s a hot mess, I start and make great progress, it feels therapeutic, it turns into lasting forever, I get sick of it, I end with a bunch of bins of shame, I’m over it it turns into a hot mess again :D

Small tip for all: I use the cardboard from LEGO delivery boxes, cut pieces out and create compartments within the storage boxes to further separate the bricks and pack more items within a single container. You can use binder gum/glue to stick the cardboard to the container walls. This way I can save a lot of space and save money since I have to buy less boxes. Max 2-3 compartments depending on the container size. Also, you can use ziplock bags to further organize individual items.

Good for you keeping on the sorting project! I imagine it's very daunting. Any amount of progress is good, in my mind. And hey, you even sorted that Trans canopy piece in the video: progress!

My issue used to be boxes - I would keep them all. Luckily, LEGO boxes seem kind of boring to me now (shoutout to the 18+ boxes) so I throw away 90% of my boxes.

I still need a system to store instructions, though...

my build to sort time is about 1to1 I often build for a while make a complete mess and spend about the same amount of time sorting is back out

I was actually just sorting some Lego today! It can be difficult to get started, but the most important thing is to not give up once you get going. So good luck to everyone on this quest right now! ;D

Earlier this year I went ahead and sorted my entire Lego collection, and catalogued it on rebrickable, (I think It's only around 20, 000 pieces). But I had seen all these videos of people lamenting unorganized collections, so I decided to at least start strong 😅
