Had no reverse and felt like someone was slamming the break when taking off in drive in 2004 Sienna. Took it in to have complete trans flush and was told needs a new transmission. They put Lucus trans slip in it. No difference until about 2 weeks later! Reverse works again and transmission shifts great! This stuff is absolutely amazing!

Does Lucas make a product for CVT transmissions?

This sounds like an essential product. But don’t I have to let out a little transmission oil when adding this? So it doesn’t end up being too much fluid?

Both the oil stabilizer and transmission fix say they can be added to a manual transmission, my question is, which one would work better in a manual transmission.

To put whole bottle in do you 1st remove a quart of current trans fluid? I am concerned about too much pressure if it is just added on top of the current level of fluid.

My transmission fluid level is full. So, do you remove 24oz of fluid first then add this? or do you just add it to a full transmission. No one has answered this question.

Put it in my crown vic because the transmission was slipping after a flush. It definitely helped stop the transmission from slipping and leaking, but it’s heavier fluid so the transmission takes longer to shift. I wouldn’t use it in a euro car or a 2015+ transmission with much stricter lube tolerances. For old transmissions it’s great but any transmission that is computerized or “sealed for life” wouldn’t benefit from this at all.

So should I add before it starts slipping ?

How often can you put it in? I had some slipping in numerous gears and took it to a mechanic to add the fluid about 2 months ago. It stopped slipping completely until today. Is it safe to add more? 1994 Ford F150 5.0 Automatic.

What if a guy accidentally on purpose puts 3 quarts into a transmission of a 78 Toronado over the course of 5 days because it leaks like a sieve? But has always shifted fine, it just somehow pumps out a quart of transmission fluid into oblivion every few days.

Need help. Long read ahead. I have a 1988 Honda Civic EF 1.3 automatic. I got the transmission changed in May last year because the previous transmission wasn't engaging from the 2nd gear to the 3rd gear. The new (second hand) transmission was fine then it started to show some lag when put in 'drive' (when the engine was cold). I was using the original Honda Transmission Fluid. Slowly that problem got worse and I'd have to keep the car running for about 10 minutes early in the morning and only then 'drive' will respond. I was advised by a local mechanic to change to Amsoil Transmission fluid as he mentioned it has additives and I did.

A) First Amsoil Transmission fluid change.
It showed improvements like the 'drive' gear engaging right after I started up the car but it would only coast in drive, stepping on the accelerator didn't have any response. I'd have to warm up the engine for maybe 3-4 minutes and would be able to drive off with no issues. I noticed with each passing week, I'd have to warm up the engine longer for the drive gear to engage. The problem came back in full swing after 3 months with newer symptoms. After warming up for about 10 minutes and driving off, the engine would have to rev up to 3k or even 4k in a very struggling manner and it would sound as though the engine has to work way harder to get from the first gear to the second gear. But once at operating temperature, the transmission works just fine and smooth but it would slip sometimes. This new symptom showed up after having driven the car for about 5k miles since the Amsoil Transmission fluid change.

B) Second Amsoil Transmission fluid change.
So I changed the fluid again and things got better than they were towards the end of 5k mileage of the first Amsoil fluid change. I drove another 5k miles and have another new symptom. The reverse gear won't engage when the engine is cold. So I'd have to keep the engine running for about 5 minutes for the reverse gear to engage and about 10 minutes for drive gear to engage with the current trans fluid. But, in order for first to second gear to shift smoothly, id have to run the engine for about 15 minutes (reach operating temperature). 15 minutes does the trick and the car runs just fine the whole day (absolutely smooth like a new car I'd say). But if I leave the car parked for a few hours, I'd have to run the engine for about 2-3 minutes for the gears to engage. This is the current situation I'm in.

So basically I have three problems:
1) Drive gear won't engage if car isn't warmed up.
2) First gear going into second struggles a lot if not sufficiently warmed up.
3) Reverse gear won't engage if the engine is not warmed up for 5 minutes.

My question is:
Would Lucas Transmission Fix be effective in helping me with this issue if I were to just top it up with current Amsoil Transmission fluid?
Any help that comes my way is very much appreciated. It's the only car I have and I absolutely love this car. Thank you so much.
