🏰 On June 25th, Slovenia celebrates Statehood Day, which commemorates the declaration of the country's independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. Let's learn what clues can help us determine if we're in Slovenia in GeoGuessr! 🇸🇮

Slovenia is a verdant and mountainous country, with over 60% of its land mass being covered in forest; even in the valley farmlands you'll be hard-pressed to find a lack of trees along property lines. Slovenia's bollards are white with black caps, red reflectors on the side facing oncoming traffic, and white reflectors facing away from oncoming traffic. Highway signs are usually yellow with black text; near borders with countries that speak other languages, like Italy and Hungary, you might see place names written in two languages on the same sign. The vast majority of road lines are painted in white paint, though I have encountered a few bus stops that have yellow dashed lines indicating where the busses pull over. The country is well-covered by Google Streetview, so anywhere is fair game, from the capital city of Ljubljana to the rolling hills of the countryside.
