Aho fell and I think Nelson was already going in for the check. I don't think it's his fault and he must feel kinda bad.

You can tell that Nelson didn’t mean to hit Aho in the head. He actually stopped right after the hit.

Not dirty it was just very unfortunate

I'm a Canes fan. Nothing Nelson could do. Aho was on his way down.

I'm surprised, a highlight video from Jens where everyone did everything perfectly.

Nelson tried (as much as he could) to slow down on the hit as Aho was falling
Brady sticking up for his Assistant Captn
And even the ref making the right call / non-call (no penalty on Nelson, and slashing call on Nečas)

Make sure to bookmark this one folks, this won't happen often during the season.. especially the ref's part

Aho was falling down. Just an unfortunate sequence

Huge Aho fan (not the Canes though lol), Nelson didn’t do that intentionally. Just an unfortunate hit in a fast played sport where things can change quickly.

Nothing he could have done. Just fell right when he went for the check. Hope he's ok

Skate blade got caught in the boards... That could have been so much worse if Nelson was there a half a second earlier or didn't ease up.

this has happened a few times already this year, this is the only one that looked like a completely unintentional

Islanders know how to hit, best team in the league at clean solid hits. That wasn't dirty at all, just unfortunate that Aho fell when he did.

that wasnt a high hit, that was a low fall

There's been a lot of suspect hits from the preseason onward thus far, but this looks accidental. Nelson was going in to engage before Aho slipped, it seems. Acceptable response by Brady, too; he was looking the other way when Aho stumbled, so he couldn't see that it wasn't an intent to injure by Nelson.

Good for Brady standing up for his teammates

Many hits against the boards in the opening rounds of the season

Nelson let up but couldn’t avoid contact. He wasn’t aiming for the head, just unfortunate that Aho lost his footing.

i dont get how people can say its not dirty hit. he had more than enough time to back out from that. i get that the contact was unavoidable, but there was no reason to deliver that hit.

A hit to the head is a hit to the head no matter if it’s intentional. Should have been a penalty. Refs are getting worse.
