I hear you. I've built almost all AM4 machines since my X99 build, but my fastest machine today is the 13700k build I completed in Fall 2022. I've had no issues with it, but I'm not confident in Intel going forward, so my next build will be AM5.

Make sure you do a warranty push and then you can sell the replacement. F Intel and the way they are handling or failing to handle this issue.

Once lunar lake launches i'm switching to intel, but i have had too many issues on "my" amd cpus, maybe its because of bad luck, but since i'm currently using an old am4 mobo it will be an upgrade nonetheless.

Never heard anyone call it a ROG. But to each their own. I currently run an oc'ed 12700k at 5.2 and a 4080. So glad I didn't upgrade yet. Keep hearing so many problems with the 13th and 14th gen. chips.

I apologize that I may not be fully informed but isn’t the problem motherboards that are sending too much voltage to the cpus than what the intel specs say? But I agree you cannot have downtime.

Intel to release a fix, will you swap back? Already stable for many that undervolted, locked the clocks.

7800x3d can simply be air cooled.. its unbelievable

Same with the next build. I did 12th, 12700KF & 12900KF running better for me gaming and HTPC removing the e cores again, my games don't drop off a P core, presumably onto an e core and lock up. Am on Nobara solely now but Windows 11 and 12th gen wasn't fun for me when it would act up. My 4090 is still doing great. I'm kind of tired of the time I spent in the BIOS over the last year, hope that AMD won't waste my time as badly for just basic gaming/home theatre (no insane OC going on). I did feel a bit nostalgic seeing an old Athlon K2 around some old pc I had disected last year I think. My friend is still happy with the 2020 AM4 5800X build I helped him pick parts out on, Windows 10, 1080P no complaints. Still 12th gen is better than my 9600K was but perhaps the 7800X3D would have been a better choice this past gen. The sales on Intel were pretty good last year. I do somewhat regret going Intel again, I didn't think I would, PCIE5 is one benefit that hasn't really paid off yet, the motherboards some were cheaper and had nice features at a lower price point though upgradability is non existent given the 13/14th issues on i7/i9s. I could see an X870/E possibly next build.

Ya know something funny maybe strange. I have been a AMD person from FX2 and did upgrade to B550s. It was said that AMD was the cheap systems 2nd to Intel. Everyone agreed Intel was way way more expensive. I just built a Intel gen12 I7K with DDR4 due to it was cheaper with more features. That is a switch. Z690 MB. I did this to work with an Arc A770 GPU I am steaming I am testing for streaming and content creation.

Wow, with all the intel issues I heard, I am more likely going to cancel the plan of buying their 15th gen Intel CPUs… I guess AM5 is gonna be my next upgrade from my 2600X!

I absolutely love what you said and how you put why you like rog strix lol. I also agree now i did t go 4090 but i did go strix 4080 super and im like so what if i paid extra? Its my money it looks better! Also gives me a 3% boost on average which is pretty cool over orher brands. So yeah haha.
