Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power has praised Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as “completely right” for his criticism of the woke movement.

Lee Hsien Loong has criticised the ‘woke’ movement that has overtaken much of the West and its institutions.

“He’s completely right,” Ms Power told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“Look at us as a society – we’re so much stronger when we’re in solidarity with one another.”

Singapore is not without flaws, but as a Singaporean I’m proud to say and delighted to know that our government does not agree with nor support this sick woke culture.

I was born in Singapore in 1962. I personally witnessed my country's progress from Third World to First in my lifetime. I am deeply grately to our founding father Mr Lee Kuan Yew and our ex PM Mr Lee Hsien Loong for bringing Singapore to where it is today. In my lifetime, I also see the decline of the West and the rise of the East (namely China and India).

His father was one of the great men of the 20th century. Its very gratifying to see his son has done him very proud.

He takes after his own father, Singapore's first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, who was a no nonsense, kick-ass kind of political leader. He advocated for a "rugged society" in Singapore, creating a society of people who are resilient, can take hard knocks and the complete opposite of being woke strawberries. Societies need more of this kind of people.

I’m an American who is living in Singapore, and I can attest to how wonderful Singapore is. It’s not perfect, but it certainly is a great place to live! And I agree that one of the reasons why Singapore has been as successful as it has been is because of their practice of having clear laws and consistently enforcing those laws, including a mandatory death penalty for drug trafficking.

As a Malaysian, I am so proud of Singapore and how it has grown as a nation. I just wished these two countries did not separate. Singapore is a constant reminder of what Malaysia could have been with good, visionary leaders.

I am a gay male Singaporean and I totally agree with ex prime minister Lee Hsien Long. We are living in a state of extreme wokeness where we cannot have a proper decent discourse of offering differing opinions in the fear of offending someone. We can be decent respectful individuals with differing opinions to help understand each other better and get to a place of a place of solidarity. Extreme wokeness seen in the west prevent this from happening. Change that benefits people and society as a whole does not happen overnight.

He has done so much for Singapore. He is a leader that the west is sorely lacking.

Singapore is one of the most misunderstood countries that I know of.

1. While Singapore doesn't have a high ranking in the freedom index, it doesn’t mean it is run by a corrupt government.

In fact, it actually ranks as the 5th least corrupt country in the world.

2. Singapore doesn't ban chewing gum. Singapore only bans the sale and import of large amounts of chewing gum.

Edit: It is actually illegal to bring chewing gum in any quantity into Singapore. I was previously under the impression that only a small quantity was ok

3. While Singapore ranks as an expensive place to live in, it also ranks as the happiest country in Asia.

Furthermore, it is the only country I have heard of that limits the number of cars in the whole country.

This is why buying a car, which is included in the cost of living, is so expensive.

Instead, most people have to take a bus or train instead.

4. Speaking of trains and buses, Singapore also ranks among the world's best public transport systems.
