I see some people asking whether scarlet rot works. It does, but it's slightly riskier and you have to alter your strategy. It's how I usually take this bullshit boss out.

-Jump in the arena on horseback (important!) with rotten breath equipped
-Take note of where the jump pad is
-Look for openings to blast rotten breath. Can take about about three or four breaths for it to proc.
-Once it does proc, sprint to the jump pad and jump down on horseback, negating the fall damage
-Just chill at the bottom and let the rot do its thing
-Repeat

Takes about two procs of scarlet rot to kill him.

loved getting the platinum for the first LotF, then I played the 2nd one on release and every 4 to 7 days they would patch it and kept nerfing & changing weapon mechanics, and boosting bosses. They also kept scaling down stats for PvP though left those changes in PvE while continually making the enemies stronger & stronger. So I'd load the game and find a weapon I liked and got used to now was nerfed by half or more, mechanics changed, & basically useless. I got tired of walking into a different game every 4ish days and having to relearn everything. Souls games let you build on what you know, that game made me feel they just stripped everything you learned with each update.
I stopped when max weapons took 5 upgrades to max, then they updated & made it 10 to max resetting the weapons to base level & losing all the upgrade mats you used. Hopefully it's more stable now because I'd love to dive in again knowing Ogles has a Boss guide!!

Does anyone actually fight this guy. He is so bullshit . You can't dodge some of his magic unless you are on your horse . He's borderline invulnerable to slash apart from on the face.
I don't really want to cheese like this, but this boss is pushing my limits

if your brave enough you can get some summons to target him. i would reccomend using a mimic tear with greatshield and mimic tear or the skeletal shield bois. then just spam the living fuck out of scarlet rot breath until it starts taking effect. then do that again after the effect wears off.

Edit: i was pretty overleveld so it may be harder for people who have just arrived at the altus plateau, mount gelmir etc.

Excellently done, I use that trick a lot. It’s funny how the poison mist never aggros an enemy so long as your stealthy 🥷 😂
