I remember before I came to the US, I didn't really know the difference between British accents and American accents even though I heard people talking about it. The school taught us British English, I studied the British text book "The new concept English" on my own. I also watched "Family album USA" and "Friends" which are American. I used to say things like "trousers", "I count (I can't)".

The school taught us the word " moon cake". However when i say "moon cake", none of the Americans actually know what it is.

Sorry, what's the question again?

Your measurement units: such as foot, yard, pound, etc... I find the US such an interesting place but the metric system is just better...

Length, weight, temperature measurement, all of them are confusing. About the date, actually both British and American English seems weird to me because in Hungary, my homeland, and also in Japan where I live we write the date in order to “year, month, day”.

You kicked out the King in 1776, you kicked out the British Empire, but you still use the old British Imperial measurements--feet and inches and yards and miles--when all sensible countries use the metric system.

Self-titled American. There are 3 Americans: North (USA, CA), Central (PA, Cuba, etc) and South (Brazil, AR, etc). North American = americano refers to the continents as a whole.

Yeah, I used to think your temperature was too high and I couldn't understand how you survived under extreme high temperatures until recently I learnt that you not using Celsius.

Calling yourselves Americans is disrespectful. In my opinion.
