i trued this & i get ms edge has an upgrade but on typing "winget upgrade --all" it juat show the upgrade available bu doesnot upgrade

Winget is a way too little known feature for what it does

For some reason my remoting software will not recognize the winget command when trying to use a cmd/powershell remote connection. However, if I take control over the machine and run cmd/powershell locally it takes the winget command without any issues. Any suggestions on how I can get bypass the issue? Thank you.

I want to try this but many times programs try to install a norton or some other trial software along. In the graphical installation I checkmark no or whatever but how do you do this with winget ?

I tried to use these kinds of Microsoft tools about a year ago (I think it was vckpkg, or something similar to that, to install dev libraries) and I didn't have a nice experience, it took loads of disk space (like 10-20gigs) and ultimately didn't have the versions I needed. The best way to install anything on windows for me are always portable installs, it's just so much easier to replace a zip file than something in a system folder or registry. The only downside is you have to put a "download the new zip file day" in your schedule/calendar, but that's not the worst thing
