Charles Letherwood is creator of The Mars Leap; a planned, interactive museum exhibit that intends to give visitors the experience of leaving the Earth, orbiting Mars, living and working on Mars, and returning to Earth. At the 25th Annual International Mars Society conference at Arizona State University, he had the chance to speak with space expert, Dr. Robert Zubrin. The two discussed past human colonization efforts, the faltering of commitment for interplanetary travel by the Nixon administration, the innovations of heavy launch capability (including dropping the cost of launches with reusable rockets) and the future of humans on Mars, including Dr. Zubrin answering the question, "If you could go to Mars, Dr. Zubrin, would you?"
