I use Todoist, Notion and a physical Bullet Journal. All my notes related to personal and work as well as database type information goes into Notion. Todoist is where I store all my tasks sort of as a archive where I review weekly and then transfer the tasks and projects I’m going to focus on that week into my bullet journal during my weekly review. This setup is a Lifesaver as I find myself often spending to much time even Messing around with things into Todoist. This way I have more of a laser focus and only what’s in my journal is what I focus on. That way my entire week is planned and I don’t even have to touch Todoist again except for quickly capturing things in my inbox that I review either at the end of the day or during the weekly review.

I really admire the way you’ve stuck with Todoist! I’m terrible at trying out and transferring tasks to different apps... especially when they’ve added upgrades that I like. Right now I’m really enjoying 2Do and it seems to be working out for me.

I will believe all of Todoist's new features when I see them.

Thanks Francesco! Great to hear what you're currently doing. I really believe in Notion, but still find Todoist to be best for me to plan my work. I will keep studying Notion.

Did evernote ever progress though? Feels exactly the same to me as 10 years ago. Zero major new features.

Note about the video: You use up 8:02 minutes, but you don't give a single reason on *WHY* you prefer Todoist over Notion for task management. You a lot of how it is "better for your workflow", or "it suits you better", but you don't give a single detail. A missed opportunity to give viewers some clarity.

Notion is better for overview rather than day to day. I am using a free notion account, but like mind map view so went full in on TheBrain as my central repository.

Thank you for sharing this! I've been struggling to find a good mix of apps, particularly trying to decrease the number of subscriptions I pay for - have been hoping to replace Evernote and Todoist in particular - but agree that task management is not quite there yet in Notion. Also just realized this is from May 2019, so maybe your feelings have changed, but I'm still feeling that (maybe because I have spent so many years with Todoist). I DO feel Notion will replace Evernote quite easily (though the import tool is woefully broken), and will organize resources, notes, etc. in a much more intuitive way than Evernote ever did.

Anyway, excited to watch your Todoist integration video as well! You are adorable, informative, and I love your work! If you are still active in the comments here, what do you use to put together your videos? I love the side-by-side display you did with Notion and Todoist, for example!

Thanks!!

Use started using Notion recently and I simply love it, it is extremely complete and powerful, the way you use it is identicall to WordPress Gutenberg, with blocks and so on, it is fantastic, but specifically for task management, I still prefer Todoist, the interface is more simple and the integration with Google Calendar is excellent, notes I keep in Notion and tasks in Todoist.

Used Todoist some time.... Then selected Matterlist, it's very interesting to-do app but only mobile versions. Now got TickTick premium subscription, it's best app for me at now.

Does notion have a plan to provide checklists?

Agree that switching and migration of tasks and notes is the biggest hurdle to a new app. It is likely what makes trying a new app less enjoyable, too.

Although the ToDoist UI (on the mac) is pretty bad I still use it because of the feature set. I love the multiple comments, api integration, tagging, custom filters. I can't find another app that match the feature set. I would probably switch over to Things if they had filters/saved searches. However I don't think Things wants to add that functionality.

I dont really think Notion can replace a pure task management app shortly. It is important for me to access my task manager from Mac manu bar or iPhone widget.

I think as the same of you. I tried use Notion as a Todo list and it's not fully complete, and I don't think Notion it's focused to that feature.
P.S: I used any.do

You like todoist better than notion because of some features todoist has but notion hasn’t. What are those? You keep a bit vague imo. What can you do with todoist that can’t be done in notion?
And I hear you about switching!

I'm curious why you've never explored Omnifocus.
