I think it would be cool on your reunion tour, to do Jarl if Iverstad mod, then High King. You can role play Jarl is the first step to becoming high king. Really enjoy your content!

this really should've been in the main game or one of the expansions, considering the dragonborn is, well, fucking dragonborn, not only do they have most legitimate claim to empire's throne but frankly after all the work you do saving the world from the dragons, vampires, and miraak, they are the most deserving of the throne to skyrim.

There was a mod called Return to Helgen. I think it was better than Become High King although you could use both at the same. Return to Helgen actually allows you to become governor of Helgen and then eventually Emperor of Tamriel. Not sure why the mod author removed it because it had to have been a lot of work to make the mod. I used it in conjunction with Become High king. First becoming governor of Helgen then progressing to High King after the civil war. Then continuing to become Emperor.
I hope it returns one day.

There is a mod called the Shiv of something in a site that should not be name.

It just a small dagger that can use to attack anyone with zero penalty. No idea how they did it but it would be perfect addition for this kind of mod

Actually, you dont need to have killed Alduin. Literally the first thing can do is talk to 20 NPCs you have a positive relationship with, marry either Ulfric or Elisif, and have 50k gold before you even start the main quests.Thats why the OG version of this mod is still better

A more "immersive" way to do this is download the mod prior to a new game playthrough, install it, and as you play and complete missions ask the NPC's if they'd support you. By the time you complete main story quest and have to pick a side in the civil war, you've got enough influence to make your own king claim instead and enter the fray.

personally, i've always wanted to (as a Stormcloak) drive those wretched witch elves from my land. i'm guessing it would take a heavily scripted DLC type mod to get that accomplished? looks like this is the next best thing.
