When I was a teenager, I worked at a bookstore in the evenings. There were two intellectually charge guys that worked together in the cafe. One of them despised Bukowski while the other one practically worshipped him. They used to get in the most intense arguments over it -pretty much every other night until finally the one threw a copy of ‘Post Office’ at the other and yelled “read it ya dumb Fk” and proceeded to take off his lanyard and quit
