It's the final episode of our History of Science series and we thought it would be good to talk a little about some of the people we couldn't get to and some of the reasons we need to talk about diversity in scientists. Thanks for the journey, everyone!

One very awesome woman you didn't mention was Emmy Noether, she was a late 1800s early 1900s mathematician/physicist who brought the idea of symmetries to centre stage in physics by proving that the conservations laws we know (like conservation of energy and momentum) come from fundamental symmetries of nature (e.g. time a space translations). Her ideas are still crucial to modern day understanding of physics all the way from general relativity and cosmology and down to particle physics!

You can feel terrible about skipping continental drift... OR YOU CAN MAKE A CRASH COURSE SERIES ABOUT EARTH SCIENCE.

I'm going to miss this series. I feel like I learned a lot.

But I'm glad he have History Dad back over on European History.

"The process of asking questions again and again, and revising them in the face of failures, mounting anomalies, and outside influences, is the story of science. And the history of science is a similar, dynamic assemblage, that we have to revisit periodically."
Brilliantly written!

Thank you to the whole team for providing such crash courses to educate the public. Let's hope we combat ignorance with an increasing rate to change humanity from it's historical destruction on earth to eventually a useful and aware species.

The one name I kept waiting to see was that of Emmy Noether: she set the foundations of modern algebra and also established the so called Noether's theorem in the physics' realm. Anyway, I just wanted to mention her (I'm sure that she would be a prominent name in a History of Mathematics, which I long to see =D ).

That said, this was an amazing journey: you guys did it again. Congratulations and thank you!

A standpoint is a personal experience and is, in fact, subjective. The way we see reality or process it is subjective. Everyone does this individually. It’s absurd to claim it isn’t subjective.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON There's much more to talk about! Eventually, I hope you guys make individual courses like "History of Biology" for example. You guy's here at Crash Course are totally awesome, and deserve every bit of praise you receive! I can't recommend you enough to my friends and family. You make everything easy to learn, digest, and retain. So far this has been my personal favorite crash course series. BRING US MORE!!! PLEASE!!! 12 out of 10, can't wait to watch again!

Me looking at the name of the course : "I know what the like/dislike ratio will look like..."
I wasn't wrong.

There are too many stories that we wouldn’t be able to keep up and we won’t ever keep up because it just keeps on growing. Thanks for this lesson

So I know this might not be the best idea, but what about a history or crash course on anthropology? Also, sad to see this end.

It's amazing to see this kind of self awareness :) Nuance can't always make it into the videos, but it's good that it's acknowledged.

Katherine Johnson, amazing lady passed away yesterday at 101years old. As a woman in science, I love that you have highlighted the contributions of so many awesome women to the body of science as a whole. Thank you for presenting this in such a way that Science can be seen as not entirely a white man's game. Science Chicks FTW!
