What you didn’t mention was that his morals have always been on the fence. So what was initially borderline good, became borderline evil. When his personality flipped, he was still willing to do good deeds despite aiming for profits. Instead of Captain America who, when flipped, became outright evil. In that sense, it actually made Tony more dangerous as he could hide in plain sight.

It had a wholesome moment in that daredevil gets his sight back for a time to try and convince him to join up and after refusing he goes to Foggy, using the final moments of his sight to just see his best friend for the first time.

I like the idea of examining hero characters with alternate moralities, but do better than “a spell switched everyone’s moralities”. Injustice and What If had more nuanced reasoning for their characters having different personalities and morals. The conditions in their universes were different, so they reacted differently. This doesn’t create a clear black and white flip flop of hero and villain, but instead challenges the reader to consider the complexity of moral judgements

He didn't fully die by Captain America Dr strange had to get a stronger Captain America from another universe and rage him up so he would fight iron man, then when cap started messing up Iron man suit up enough Dr strange dropped an alien or galactic ship on them killing both of them.

Edit: actually captain America died by Iron Man, the alien ship killed Iron Man.
