I just had carpal tunnel surgery a little over a week ago and my surgeon had me under general anesthesia but a few days afterwards my 32 ounce hard plastic bottle of gel with 16 ounces left in it fell and of course reflexes I grabbed it with the surgery hand trying to prevent it from falling and the pain was awful, I felt a warm sensation and a pull I’m like I hope it’s not injured. I won’t lie my hand be stinging and certain moves it hurts. I’ve been exercising it but I see the doc next on the 12th and my bandages are still as I was when I left the hospital. Stays on for 2 weeks. I’m praying and hoping everything is on schedule

I have had carpal Tunnel Syndrome for the last 10 years!! I have had 2 operations on my right hand and 3 operations on my left hand, unfortunately the third one did not work and my hand took a long time to heal! I have since had nerve studies and have been told by a consultant that I have severe carpel Tunnel in both hands and my nerves are so badly damaged that there is nothing else that they can do fore me!!!

Nerve conduction tests confirmed I have severe CTS in the right hand and moderate in the left hand. Two weeks ago I had surgery to the right hand, I choose to have the endoscopic procedure.Unfortunately this was not successful so had the open procedure. My consultant did explain this may happen prior to having the surgery.
After the op, the thumb, index, middle and ring finger were very stiff and felt numb. I have now regained feeling in most of my fingers apart from the middle one. I am worried whether this issue will resolve itself in time.
I am doing regular hand exercises, using ice packs and continuing to take pain relief meds.
