Lun Grapid wheels (and many others in this class of mid-range carbon wheels) hit the sweet spot offering maximum benefit to the ride experience while minimizing price and still retaining quality control and after-sale support. ..At least in my opinion.

A review of Lun Grapid 700c carbon gravel wheels and a discussion about where these fall within the spectrum of gravel wheels in general.

Thanks. I've ordered this one and waiting to be delivered. Hope they ride well both on road and light gravel.

I bought a pair 2 weeks ago and they are lovely on the road. 45 mm deep, so crosswinds are a bit annoying but such a compliant yet light wheelset.

I agree that mid range carbon hoops are a good choice and great upgrade with a few exceptions. Mid range wheels seldom sell as just rims and only offer complete sets. This usually means inferior hubs with cheaper internal small parts that are more likely to fail. I’m definitely not an expert or connoisseur of the ride quality of different brands or carbon hoops but I do think, in general, thicker heavier carbon is generally going to be a less lively compliant feel. Personally I bought the Zipp XPLR 101 hoops and had them laced to CK hubs but obviously that wasn’t budget friendly and an expensive upgrade. If I were to choose a mid range wheel set, I would just shop for a nice wide internal width and a decent hub or one that is traditional spoked to the rim so I could replace.

Ran these for 2 years and most recently at unbound 200. Held up great. I did have to do a full teardown of everything on the bike and the bearings need replaced.

Thanks for the video! I don’t see it listed in the site, and you didn’t mention in this or the unboxing video… are the spoke nipples alloy or brass?

Hey Prof Sauce - I think I read that Lún are the manufacturer. If so, that gives them an advantage over assemblers (like Hunt)

Thanks for the review. 1 year in, how do they hold up? And, couldn't find it on the website but what is the weight limit of the wheelset?

Ivenm been looking for a gravel wheelset that has a 25mm id profile under 1k, right now im using the 303s with 40mm tires, just built my 2nd gravel bike that can take 2.1 tires. If you have the pick lun gravel or the hunt gravel for 29x2.1 tires which one would you pick? And would put a 2.1 tires on the 303s with 23mm id?

I would imagine that replacing a spoke nipple would involve fishing a line through the removed valve stem. Uggh. That would be pretty annoying.

What's the suggestion for road bike spacing in rear? And how is the noise? My current set is just so loud...

I bought the LUN road wheels and wanted to use it on the Specialized Turbo Creo. Unfortunately, the Turbo Creo uses the road boost spacing of 12x110 front and 12x148 rear. I asked WinSpace whether they can sell me the end caps that can convert it to the boost spacing and their response was just No. Do you have any suggestions on how I can convert this to boost spacing. Given that the spacing is not common and hard to come by, I think there would be a market for conversion kit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks I’m advance.

I am considering replacing my carbon diverge sport pro with an aluminum gravel bike. Do you think it's possible to get a close enough ride feel on an aluminam frame to the carbon diverge? One thing I am thinking about doing is adding carbon wheels on the aluminum bike. Would love to hear your thoughts if you have a moment. Thanks!
