Rob was actually trained in Opera in college. Austin has musical theater background. It was Austin's idea to do this and he had to talk him into it. Rob had not done opera in about 15 years. They are both tenors Austin is a first tenor (high) and Rob is a second tenor (lower). Always enjoy your reactions to these guys.

The diction is what surprised me most. I speak Spanish and can understand some Italian, and Rob's diction was almost perfect... Austin's wasn't perfect but it was pretty close to it. Rob's tone and mouth shaping was absolutely pure opera, too. Overall, this was absolutely fantastic.

Loved your shocked expressions! Given Home Free's comedic ability, quite a few reactors thought this might be lip sync'd or a spoof. Rob studied and performed opera but that was 15 years ago. This was Austin's idea. Took some encouragement from him to get Rob on board. In Home Free Rob sings tenor so his beautiful, deep richness, here, was definitely a surprise. Given the overwhelming positive response they've received on this performance, hopefully the guys continue to branch out, explore new ideas (we see some in their new album which just released...a video from one of the tracks posted yesterday). Always look forward to your doing Home Free!

Austin is a lyric tenor with a high range and Rob is an amazing dramatic tenor. Their different voices harmonize beautifully. I agree that they triumphed with this beautiful and difficult aria. I enjoyed your reactions and felt the same.

Hello my FAVORITE ACADEMIC HOME FRIES!! I guess I always have to start that way. 😀Another FANTASTIC reaction!! The STUNNED looks on your faces when Rob started his first solo was PRICELESS!! To be fair, Rob did study opera several years ago, but he hasn't done it in several years. Then Austin asked him to join him on this one. I can't think of a better duo to do this. I did notice though that the title that was showing during your reaction was wrong. But still, just watching your reactions was a GREAT time!!! Hello Ladies! So, was that something or what? I thought they were going to do something funny at first, but when they started I couldn't believe it was them. Rob actually studied opera in college so he has a background. Austin has theatrical training. It blew me away. I had mentioned to you in a previous reaction that my son and I were going to see them live in a nearby town, and we did. They were amazing to say the least. Very humble and down to earth, and of course funny. Their harmonies were just as on point as their recordings. They put on a wonderful show. If you ever have the chance to see them live, definitely go see them. Great reaction.

Great Reaction! I have never been a fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.
