The TDK AD and SAs were excellent, used to have a lot of those back in the day.
Fair play to you recycling these and not letting them go to landfill.
I do sometimes consider getting back into cassettes although my deck is long gone.
Interesting video.

The tape concaving can easily be fixed by playing it back and it smooths out, at least that’s what I’ve found with all tapes I’ve bought second hand

Wow! Great haul. I agree, keep the good ones and sell those you’re not interested in. I remember most of those tapes. I had some Boots tapes but I can’t remember anything about the quality except they perished years ago so I assume not so good.

I used to swap cassettes with a friend of mine back in the 70s and early 80s and he often used to give me Boots cassettes. They were usually poor quality and tended to break easily with the C-120s being the worst of the lot as the tape was very thin. The inlay card design looks different to the ones I remember so I would guess it would be mid to late 80s. Many of the chain stores used to sell their own brands such as WH Smith but I tended to give these a wide berth.

Do the smell test, true chrome tape has the smell of Crayons 🖍 the other type 2 that doesn't smell like crayons might be doped.

If you ever find audio books I'm always on the lookout to listen on my Walkman when travelling. I'll check out your ebay link. I wonder if the 'concave' tape is from playing in the car stereo? Just a thought.

Don't suppose you found any musicals? I'm a bit picky about the ones I like, but I'm willing to give most a try.

nice score i also find lots like these but i mainly look for the blank tapes as i collect those and if any pre recorded ones have chrome tape i record onto them any other prerecorded tapes as they are mainly junk i pull all the tape out everywhere just for fun. for some reason i always seam to get a beatles tape in the lots i buy and yes it gets destroyed by pulling the tape out of it.

Um think trying to sell 72 cassettes you got for free on ebay for £300 is a bit taking the wee wee! Cding 2 were the b grade sa at the time. Some say that they were the edge of the rolls, Not that much Type 1 cassettes are made anymore and no type 2 ( Technically NAC are making C756 but i havent actually see one, even a sample which i think speaks volumes) so we are stuck with the old stuff.

The only downside is people didn't rewind the tape back & the tape Crinkles up & you would get dropouts or lose a channel it's highly annoying
