John Amos Dead at 84

John Amos has died at the age of 84. Best known for his role as Kunta Kinte in the landmark 1977 miniseries, ‘Roots,’ the actor also played James Evans Sr. on the ‘70s sitcom, ‘Good Times,’ and Gordy Howard on ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show.’ John later starred alongside Bruce Willis in the 1990 action flick, ‘Die Hard 2.’

I've been a professional chauffeur in NJ for many years. About 10 years ago, I had the distinct honor of driving Mr. Amos home 🏡 In all of my years of driving, I had never had a client ask me to come inside and offer to make me a cup of coffee ☕️ except for Mr. Amos. It was one of the nicest gestures that I can remember anyone doing. RIP Mr. Amos 🙏❤️
