Thank you so much for this video! I read that 800$ minimum taxes for the first year can be waved if you open LLC directly with California Secretary of State. Am I right and if I do it through Inc website will I get this benefit? And also it says If you cancel your LLC within one year of organizing, you can file Short form cancellation (SOS Form LLC-4/8) with the SOS. Your LLC will not be subject to the annual $800 tax for its first tax year. I think in this case it doesn't matter if I open it with Inc or Secretary of State because most likely my LLC will not be active more than a year

I worked in Silicon Valley for almost 40 years. 15 years of that was my own business. When I went to figure out what type of company to form and where the form it I just had to look to the Fortune 100 in Silicon Valley. They were all C corporations based in Delaware. After the debacle with Hewlett-Packard showing us why you do not want to incorporate in California, I'm not sure why anyone would want to even now.
