New ACL Tear Treatment Option #shorts

Показать описание
Bridge-enhanced ACL repair (BEAR®) is a technique that consists of the use of a resorbable protein-based implant in combination with autologous blood to bridge the gap between two torn edges of a midsubstance ACL tear. This implant is believed to facilitate primary suture repair healing and suture cinch and has demonstrated noninferiority to ACL reconstruction with autograft at 2-year follow-up #aclrecovery #acltear

I fully tore my ACL on Jan 9, 2023, skiing, together with the MCL and LCL. They delayed my surgery due to the swelling and severe collateral damage. Started PT right away. 2 months of PT later my PT therapist said I should delay surgery, because my knee seems to be physically stable. I did a total of 140 hours of PT. Now, 9 months later my doctor saw me again and said my ACL is reattached and healing without surgery. Due to the huge amount of PT and so much blood pumping in the knee, the ACL healed apparently.

My ACL. Exploded they had to replace it. It did do extremely good for about 15 years but I have developed extremely bad arthritis in both knees.

I tore my ACL, MCL and meniscus about 5 years ago. I see alot of people talking about surgery/non-surgery options. For me, I had no choice, my knee was in such bad shape that I couldn´t go without surgery. I could hardly bend the knee at all before surgery, now I am back to running with almost complete ROM in the knee.

Opted out of a 3rd surgery 10 years ago. Its holding up good enough but had to give up a lot of activities. Was psyched to hear about this until i heard it has to be done soon after injury...not 10 years 😞

Hi doctor. I like to freestyle dance on mountain tops, and a few years ago I tore my ACL and never got surgery because I was scared. My leg is bad every day, it pops in and out, does not fully straighten, and I can't run on it or dance. I talked to Dr. Takara at the Ventura Ortho clinic, he tells me it's been too long to do the surgery on it, that there is nothing to be done. I now have arthritis of the knee. Is this true? Is there really nothing that can be done since I waited?

I tried to get this surgery done however I was a good candidate because the tissue was too dead. I had a quad graft instead. Dr. Ulmer did it on me and he was one of the pioneers of the graft because he takes patient quality of life very seriously unlike my first surgeon which sadly crippled me by taking to much of my pettla tendon for the graft. Ulmer also did the surgery with me awake because of my history of not being able to have General anesthesia and it really triggers my PTSD. He did this with my left knee and that was very successful and very usable. My right however he couldn't do much with because the first surgeon screwed up so bad. It is painful to walk on my right knee I eat Ibuprofen like M&Ms to make it through the day. I tried to run and do activities I used to do and enjoy but no longer can. Basically what I need is my Pettla tendon to be repaired but there is no way to put more tendon back when it is cut out.
