"won't be impacted by THIS change." Doesn't really mean "these are definitively never returning", they're just clarifying that old battle passes won't be sold in the shop 18 months after release, which could even apply to ch5s3.

I don’t understand why people get upset over the idea of new players getting a chance to buy old battle passes. I have been playing from the start and I couldn’t care less. These skins aren’t rare….there were a crap ton of us playing during the first battle pass. It’s a little psychotic to feel bad if you’re unable to have a cartoon skin in a video game that other people don’t.

OG accounts are selling like hotcakes online right now. If Epic doesn't want your money, there's plenty of sellers who do. Buy on separate PC not connected to your internet, then once you set it all up, you can log in safely at home

They just said old battle passes won't return to the item shop, but that doesn't mean that the battle passes themselves won't return (as a extra battle pass for the new permanent OG Chapter 1 mode)

"Battle passes are only available for a limited time within a season" the seasons are technically coming back, within their season is possible

This doesn’t prove that the old battle passes aren’t coming back. This only proves they won’t come back to the item shop and sell each Individual skin like they are now going to do with the new battle passes. They can still come back as a whole battle pass. It’s happening.

At risk of getting the toxic among those who take the "they should not return battlepasses" side of things going, I don't think this is inherently means they won't come back. Simply confirming the specific change they made to the battlepasses' terms won't affect old passes. Is it significantly less likely now? Absolutely, I'm not brain dead I recognize that is very much a bad sign for their return. However there is still a very small chance. Not getting my hopes up though, probably won't happen.

this exclusivity change was talking about items appearing separately in the shop though, so actual battle passes could still be resold (I know they most likely won't but they can is my point)

If that is true then that’s the biggest missed opportunity on their part to literally print money, as a new player I’d KILL to be able to buy and work through older passes. I missed out on literally EVERYTHING, I started playing C5S4, the Doom Season, and when I saw the stuff I missed out on like Darth Vader, Superman, Helsie, Spider-Man and Gwen I was PISSED! Can you imagine the absolute bank they would make if they made a Battle Pass shop?! Shit, if Dota can do it why can’t Fortnite?!

Edit: Wow, this comment section went to a really toxic place so I’m just gonna reiterate a few things. 1. Yes I can see why it wouldn’t be fair to the people who already own the battle passes but they could just do what they did with Paradigm and give OG players new variants for the skins included in the passes to keep that exclusivity. 2. You don’t have to say things like “That’s rough buddy. Cry about it, you should’ve played when they came out.” I, and other people who missed out on them already know that, saying it repeatedly doesn’t help. 3. Saying that I should quit the game is absolutely unnecessary, it’s still enjoyable without the stuff I missed in the older passes. Yeah I may not be able to Rick Roll players as Peter Griffin or dab as Peely but the game is still VERY fun.
