I usually agree with you, but I cannot agree with this one. FOMO is a preadatory practice that should be over. They said it was exclusive, but the EULA says otherwise. They also said STW would be free in 2018 yet here we are.

They should return every single BPs back and they should allow people to finish the BP after the season is over also because they paid for it. FOMO is bad. Period.

Your analogies are way off and not even good ones at that. You can't compare tangible things like a marriage or a relationship to an intangible item like a video game. It's a business and at the end of the day the business is going to do what's best for the business. As a businessman yourself (you sell items right here on your YT page) you have to acknowledge that. Epic has never made an agreement (legal or handshake) about things never returning and this entire argument about "Epic going back on their word" is just a lot of noise generated by the community. Where is their word? Is there a blog post, an article, a video, tweet, smoke signals or even so much as a telepathic communication about this so-called word? It doesn't exist. Like it or not, Epic's gonna do what Epic wants to do and there's nothing anyone can do about it. It's right there in their EULA and TOS. Have a read.

The moment I became pro bringing back old battle passes & could care less if any OG owner is upset is when I saw a comment on X where someone wanted the Marvel skins from CH2 S4. They couldn't play at that time because they were undergoing chemotherapy & someone replied to them saying "Oh well that's too bad". I understand that these skins were promoted as exclusive & I remember the comparison you made about your Optimus collector's edition (although honestly I think it wasn't a fair comparison to make because that's a physical item where as skins can be brought back at any time at the click of a few buttons). However, even though it would be slimy for Epic to go back on their original word to not bring these back, I think it could be a huge positive in terms of profit because at the end of the day Epic is a business, morals are not at the top of their priorities. On top of that I think it would be a win for a majority of players who either couldn't play at the time due to personal reasons or honestly some of them not being old enough to play to obtain these skins. I truly understand both sides but taking ethics out of this particular situation & it does apply to both stances but they are just cosmetics in a video game. If they return people will still be fine, if they don't people will still be fine it's just a game. Unfortunately I will be taking the stance on bringing them back because I personally think it would be a celebration of the game & add more to it's longevity.

I dont see your point, at all, and honestly this whole video came off as realy condescending. Condescending in a way where it's like "no, I have a special thing with this game and you dont, I was there back then and so I and only I deserve to have these cosmetics! You joined the game later? Then you dont deserve to have black knight, or omega, or superman or whatever have you! Doesnt matter how much the game matters to you.".
What if I was there and lost the account? Do I not deserve to get my stuff back? I was invited to the party and I came but I forgot all about it, do I not get to relive those memories?
Also why is the original skin taboo and a re-skin a-ok? You are not ok with jules (per se) coming back but if they like change her tatoos its fine to bring her back? The item shop would just be over saturated with re-skins of old fan favorite skins. What about old skins that arent fan favorites but that you might like? At that point it would just be easier for the majority of people and epic games to just bring these battle passes back... Exclusivity is important and those who supported the game in its infancy should be at the very least be acknowledged BUT I dont think that gatekeeping old battle passes is the way to do it.
Kent, I love your videos and I dont want this to feel like a personal attack or anything. I've been a fan of yours for a almost a year. You've helped me see things in a way that I would have never seen them and helped me learn how to propely judge someones opinion.
But I whole heartedly disagree with you on this take.

Tf you mean? How can you compare gatekeeping fortnite skins to a person? The difference is, 1 is a person, the other is an object. 1 can be purchased. 1 has rights. The way most people who want the skins back see it this way. They've just started playing Fortnite in Chapter 5, and they see all these cool skins. Omega, Ultima Knight, Midas, Kado Thorne, The Foundation. They think "Wow, I can't wait for these to appear in the shop" only to discover, that they're blocked by a giant wall that just says "Should've played back then"

We're getting to a point where people won't be able to obtain skins because they became exclusive... before they were born. How is that fair? That's not "Should've played back then" That's "Should've been born faster". And istg, it's always the same people that say "If you're annoyed at the game you probably have burn out, take a year off the game" and then say "Should've played back then"

But we all forget that Epic is duking us both. Epic is going to release them, like it or not, and make a profit, while having profited off one of the most scummy marketing tactics ever. Fomo.

I was about 7 when I started playing fortnite back in chapter 1, my parents didn’t let me buy v bucks until I was 9 it isn’t a case of me having a flat tire, it’s more so a case of someone else smashing my car with a sledgehammer and breaking my legs I know people who started playing a year after me and they have battle pass skins I can never have
