It is an amazing feeling when you realise you're effortlessly flying up a massive steep hill and smiling about it. Gym progress is very slow but cardio progress happens much faster it's very motivating

Bought my first bike for a tenner after saving up. That was 55 years ago. Then came road bikes, mtbs, a tourer and a TT bike for triathlons.Just bought a Zwift ride last week. Old cyclists never die, they just ‘ride on’.

A strong rider gave me advice one time. They said if you can walk as fast as you’re riding, why would you not save energy by walking? No shame in it if you have to do it.

It's all about progress, patience and consistency 🚲💪
I've been riding from zero, I meant, I didn't even know how to ride a bike 😂 but all this process makes me feel so proud of myself :') It's such a great sport ❤

I’ve been riding since 1980, I have 4 mountain bikes, 4 road bikes, & one beach cruiser. I would have more bikes, but I completely wore them out, not just tires, chains, sprockets, detailers, but also all the bearings, & most of the bottom brackets became unserviceable. It just made more sense to replace the bikes.

for me the most important thing is how comfortable it feels to sit on a bicycle saddle as if I were walking. the second is how long I walk. the third is we talk about speed. hahaha..what do others think😂

Éste deporte es de locos, llevo más de 15 años pedaleando, tengo 65 años, mi peso es 140 lbs, siempre me ha gustado desde jovencito, pero lo importante es sentirse uno bien, mi dieta es balanceada, muchas verduras y frutas sueros vitaminados, y vitaminas que las tomo a diario, motivo a la juventud para hacer cualquier deporte, un saludo de GT.😅😅😂

I got me a bike for my 57th b/day, haven’t ridden for 30 years. I’m at year 3 after just one month! Knees are getting stronger

This is not true. Beginners progress much faster!! Day 1 was me. 6 months later the "10 years" was me getting the KOM on the same hill. At 1.5 years I was just about at my maximum. At 3 years there wasn't even 5% more gains.

I do not totally agree with the last part. There are many old timers that are fast riders and have dropped me!!!😂
