I'd seen pictures, but seeing it in action was wonderful. I like how the chain length is dealt with!

To reply ppl on comment section. This era the cyclist on Tour de France needed to replace the entire wheel in order to change de gear ratio for climbing the mountains.

I do really like how campagnolo has been the pinnacle of bike innovation consistently over the years, and even nowadays, it is my favourite!

I wouldn't go as far to say this is a masterpiece... Definitely revolutionary

Tulio Campagnolo invented the dork disk.

If youre somehow confused or shaming the design this was the time of the early TDF era, a time where they rode a with one gear and had to swap out the wheels to change gears, this was an early concept to save time and soon evolved to tube shifters then to brifters the STIs SRAM’s double tap system, Campagnolos famous thumb shifter and other stuff

Beautiful! I love vintage ideas and how they implemented them. Brilliant

My goodness, I will never complain about the sound my 12 spd gears make being slightly off index, swapping from gravel to my wahoo kicker v20 again

Campy stuff was always beautiful! I had a bike with victory on it and it worked like a Rolex ! The Shimano stuff was good, but campy was art!

Campagnolo in Italy is famous for inventing quick wheel releases. the stick shift was the normal evolution. However, as an Italian I have seen thousands of quick releases but it is the first time I have seen the gearbox.
and....I wouldn't trust myself to unhook the wheel while driving😂

How does the hub move in both drop outs equally, rather than being pulled forward on the drive side? Do you hold the wheel straight while doing this?

In the early 1960's I remember seeing this mechanism on another cyclists bike and asking about it. It was out of date by then as everybody was using derailleur gears from various makers.
