DIY Mini CNC Engraving Machine | Arduino based CNC Router machine

Показать описание

Hello friends in this video I have made a mini CNC engraving/milling machine. this machine based on arduino and GRBL firmware.
12mm plywood is used to make the frame of this machine and nema17 stepper motor is used for all three axis.
8mm smooth rod & T8 lead screw is used for all axis
500W spindle is used which is quite enough for this job.
I have tested it on wood, acrylic, and PCB it works well not tested on alu. but shallow cuts with high quality of endmill done the job I think.

All the dimension details of machine and components list available on my website please visit below link.

Nice! I did the same with 3d printed parts 4 years ago, then I changed to 30X30 profile aluminum. I havent used since two years ago due I wanted to add a camera, I tested on april with good results.

This setup might be suitable for cutting vulcanized fiberboard pieces of guitar pickup flatwork if a low-power cutting laser was used instead of a router head. Even with very fine bits, there's tear-out even with very small, very sharp cutters. Fred Stuart has a purpose-built laser cutter for making flatwork that he demonstrated in a video several years ago (maybe 10+), and the flatwork come out beautifully. Preferable to dies and a punch press, given the cost of that kind of setup (only useful for large production runs anyhow). This looks like just the machine for the job. It would actually only need to be 2 axis, X and Y, since the material is flat and not very thick.

Finally!!! 👍
Why don't you do a box type CNC? (helps with dust and noise - like my...)

Hey Mr Innovative,
Thanks for the wonderful project & the detailed documentation in your website. Could you please elaborate how the PCB milling is made? How to generate the Gcode from Gerber files (or any other PCB design file)?

Bro this is the best and most neat CNC build video...keep it up
By the way where did you learn all these skills?

Very cool! A shame, that the work area is very small, although it is for small things. Thanks for sharing.

Really nice. Though these days, I no longer have the patience to make something like that from scratch. Way bay when I did build my first computer, an S-100 buss machine from scratch.
