The mere that that The Beast is the embodiment of suicidal thoughts IS dark in itself. It causes its victims to lose hope or to exhaust themselves, turns them into trees with distorted faces (like in the Divine Comedy, those who killed themselves are turned into trees, constantly tortured by harpies) so it would feed of their souls.

In its song, it claims to be the “light in the tunnel” for the lost, meek souls, and tricks them into making believers that they would find rest and stop their pain once “they submit to the soil of the earth” (a.k.a. If they kill themselves)
