Rights of Nature 101: An Introduction to the Rights of Nature

This one-hour training focuses on the concept of legally enforceable Rights of Nature, and their global development.
Our special guests for the April 8th Rights of Nature Webinar: First Rights of Nature Law Passed in Canada, to protect the MagPie/Meteshekau Shipu River are:
-Yenny Vega Cardenas, a Canadian lawyer who helped to draft local laws recognizing rights for the MagPie/Muteshekau Shipu River in Quebec in collaboration with the Innus Council of Ekuanitshit and the Minganie Regional County Municipality.
-Pier-Olivier Boudreault is a professional biologist, working as the director of conservation for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – Quebec section.
This training features a presentation by our staff and included time for questions and discussion. It is intended for communities and groups in the U.S. interested in learning about the Rights of Nature movement, and how to implement it in their own town or city.
