I have a Phantom 3 pro... I really really want collision avoidance but with hearing the Phantom 4 is not being produced due to lack of parts I am really hesitant to purchase one. I do not like the small drones due to wind resistance. I would like a Phantom with avoidance and 6 motors to relieve fear of a motor failure. The cameras are all great. The batteries marvelous, Flighty times excellent. My needs now are safety and reliability while flying. I understand we need rules and no fly zones. I feel drone detection by low flying planes is necessary. I also support the privacy of individuals and have no intention of using my drone to compromise any person in any way being of their privacy or space intrusion.

DJI has said they are having trouble getting parts from manufacturers for the phantom and that they never said they was making a phantom 5 so there is nothing to cancel or discontinue. This was taking off a news clip "“As for the Phantom 5 rumors, we’ve never said we considered making a Phantom 5 in the first place, so there’s nothing to cancel, ”

They currently are selling 4 different Mavic 2 models using the same airframe factory assembly line with only small differences between the standard and enterprise series and final camera version assembly.. This really enhances the cost efficiency and ROI of their manufacturing supply chain.. Spinning up a new assembly line for a different aircraft model ( or restarting an assembly line for the P4 ) is costly and even though many of us want the better capabilities and performance of a Phantom class airframe, maybe they feel the market demand for a new Phantom model isn’t big enough to justify the assembly line costs (or continuing to produce the Phantom 4 if third party vendor parts were available) I guess we will just have to wait and see..

I’m a diehard Phantom user, and won’t be buying another mavic ever. If dji doesn’t build the Phantom 5, someone else will build something similar to what it should be, and I will likely buy that eventually, IF it has an awesome camera, maybe a mini 4/3.

I hope DJI figure something out to fill the phantom space. I am one of those customers that has money sitting on the sidelines for when the next generation of phantom drones comes out. If DJI does not come out with something better than the phantom 4 pro and another competitor does, I am going to get their competitions bro. No hard feelings, but I need the best technology on the market.

I do really hope that you are right and we will see a new Phantom released soon, but it has been an abnormally long time since the P4 standard and I am not as hopeful . The huge success of the Mavic drones can't be denied and does anyone know what the current demand for a new Phantom would be? I bought the standard model in 2016 and skipped over to P4P etc. to wait for the P5. I may have to be satisfied with grabbing a P4P new or used.

Maybe, maybe not 😉 but I agree, some YouTubers cannot get off this topic and have been ranting on (for attention) about the P5 for the last 6 months ..

I had the Phantom 3 Pro, purchased used in 2015 for 900 aud and I sold it to my sister n law for 700 bucks last week. I had purchased a big pelican case for travel to my mine site and it was becoming a hassle to fly with.The Pro 3 and Phamtom 4 there is little diff in video but portability is steering me to the Mavic P2. Regardless of video quality, the Mavic Pro 2 (and zoom) has reached a level of tech and its portability is ideal for my travels. I'm eyeing up the zoom. If you do not fly that much then the Phantom is probbaly better.

I think dji may have a different style drone they want to introduce between the mavic and the inspire that will take the phantom market as we know it to a whole new different level, probably with interchangeable lens and the ability to fold. Plus why else bring out new software for an obsolete drone, phantom's not dead just reborning under a different name and design.

Dji = Phantom, it would be like Nike getting rid of the tick, it just wont happen. We will see another Phantom, and it will be around the 2k mark, but it will be a game changer. The mavic community wont want it, simply because they want the compact style of that series, and DJI knows it! PHANTOM lovers are die hard, the camera, the stability, the capability this series gives us is simply the best. Unless you need interchangeable lenses, or a compact fold away design then you need look no further than the phantom. That is why dji wont let their ground breaking, world leading, all singing baby go! Phantom 5 for Christmas anyone? Santa already has my order!👍

I really think they are going to be to professional drones left For big stuff I really think dey took the Phantom out of the Siri because they want the expire for that The mavic pro It's going to be more for professionals they want to carry something glory small death is what I think I'm not sure

If the phantom 4 is out of stock they must have stopped making the phantom 4 so they have time to make the phantom 5.
