I will keep it short, It is impossible for Spotify to say it is illegal to put a song on repeat no matter how long it is on repeat because this is an option Spotify gives you as an option which is built in to the Spotify app. There are no illegal language concerning the amount of repeats of a song or songs in their terms because there are also premium customers who pay monthly for this service and you can not tell a monthly subscriber you can put a song on repeat for as long as you want, there is nothing in spotify terms that says this amount of streams on repeat are illegal because it is not. Artificial streams are illegal because they use software bots to increase streams and not human behavior this is illegal and is banned but not having a song on repeat as this is a legal option Spotify provides for premium and free users with no stipulations on how many times you can repeat a song.

I think that’s b.s. cause YouTube u can play the song how many times you want & tidal. What if the song is only 45sec? You can’t tell a person you only have a certain amount of times to listen to the song sometimes I go to sleep with my songs on repeat. I paid for the subscription who cares after that I never had a problem

So if the song is under 30 seconds I guess they don't count on repeat? Some really short grindcore songs haha. Does make sense though, since if you had a one second song on repeat it would make over 100K after a year if you just left it going, which is nuts.

Wait I've been obsessed with a few songs and actually did listen to one of them on repeat for a couple hours earlier today (I don't know exactly how long, but maybe 40 or 50 times on the high end). How much do I have to worry about it getting removed? I'm not the artist, I don't want to fuck them over or get one of my favorites removed. Like is the "casual listener" line crossed by repeated 30sec-and-skip type repeats or is it crossed by what I just did? And if what I did goes outside of the "casual listener" thing do I have to worry about repercussions for me or the artist?

I get that it is against the rules to stream your own song on repeat. But it makes me wonder if a fan streamed your song on repeat until spotify noticed could they get your music taken down. Could a spotify subscriber weaponize repeat song plays until your music was removed.?
