Although failing is not fun, it's good for you that it happens sometimes. It makes you stronger and you learn how to deal with setbacks. I didn't have setbacks during my student time and couldn't handle them when it did start to happen. So it's only healthy having to deal with setbacks sometimes:)

It's good to see the healthy way you handle failure. So refreshing. 2/3 whilst holding down a full time job and your job change is amazing. Xx

I also failed for the first time a few weeks ago… you have NO IDEA how much I appreciate this video. Big congratulations on the 2 passes!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience ♥️

As a first year at uni, it was hard already to get back into being motivated socializing etc, especially after a year just doing zoom classes. I failed my first exam which was a low blow, then told myself it wasn't the end of the world like you said. That by failing you learn more from your mistakes. Like a teacher told me once : It's better to fail and learn about how to get better, than to pass at 60% or an average grade and not understand your own mistakes. Which could follow you later. Seeing this video just a few days before restarting the winter semester has helped me tons. Thank you!♥

It is really heartening to see that you share your results with your parents immediately after you have received them ❤

Fellow here (FCAS) and I qualified before you were born so I know a lot of actuaries. And I do mean "a lot". And not only can I count the number of people I know who never failed an exam on the fingers of one hand and still have a couple left over.

Actuarial exams are no joke guys. Seriously, those exams can be extremely difficult. In my country, South Africa, there was actually one exam where no one passed. Failure is just another chance to succeed!

I've just moved abroad. I failed so many job applications. I wanted to apply for a PhD but there has been no positions open by now. I feel there is no place for me anywhere. Hope things will go better, I'm taking your positivity as a role model, thank you.

That's tough- bit frustrating! You did well in the other two so all is not lost. All the best with revision though and hope the new job is doing well! We love supportive colleagues!

These exams are very different than uni exams and sometimes they are very very difficult. I failed 2 times during my SAP certification exams and I felt miserable until I pass them. Best luck in your next session. 💛💛 Note: When I look back now, I see clearly that SAP was not my calling at all... but hey-ho!

I think you handled it so well! This year I failed a couple of exams and although obviously it's not a nice experience I'd say I learned a lot about myself as a person!!

I actually really needed this - I’m a trainee accountant and have never failed anything in my life either- awaiting exam result on Thursday and highly anticipate a fail - you’re the most comparable non-accountant person for me to go through it all with and as much as it sucks, seeing you fail with grace is making me less afraid of doing the same! Better luck next time ❤

That's a really good showing with CP2 on the first attempt! Just throw in CP2 with every session until you get it, there's an element of luck in that you may get a paper that is closely related to your daily work. Well done!

Hi Paige, it’s completely alright to fail your actuarial exams. CP3 gave me a very tough time and I was able to clear this paper in 6th attempt despite being praised for my communication skills at work. So never loose hope and learn from your mistakes. This diet I attain my associateship and hence now moving forward to fellow exams :)

It's alright...you just have to keep trying ...and it'a certainly no laughing matter to have cleared two out of three of such difficult exams

A pro tip for CP2... If you don't understand something, model is however you understood it and just audit it. Also if you make an error, mention the error on the audit and carry on as normal. Put lots of auto checks and reasonableness checks where you can. Then you'll defo pass!

Congratulations Paige! Don't worry about CP2 - CM2 was the key one here! (CP2 and 3 you can kind of bung in when you fancy it; I'd say you've failed right lol). Also, one of the best modellers/coders at my company failed CP2, so you're in good company!

The marking can be weird sometimes. I remember my CA2 exam (CP2 predecessor): for Paper 1, one marker gave me 80, the other 60, while for Paper 2 it was something like 65 and 75. In one section marked out of 20, one of them gave me 15 and the other 3 lol.

Come on, recently I failed few interviews and felt this as well, so I'm sure, you will be acknowledged about difficult parts next time and will pass these exams. Keep moving, I believe in your strength.
