Finding the Amplitude and Period of a Trigonometric Graph

👉 Learn how to graph a cosine function. To graph a cosine function, we first determine the amplitude (the maximum point on the graph), the period (the distance/time for a complete oscillation), the phase shift (the horizontal shift from the parent function), the vertical shift (the vertical shift from the parent function) and the x-scale (the distance between the turns and the x-intercepts). After we have obtained these features, we plot the points on the graph and graph accordingly.

Your videos have saved me. I am in an online pre-calc course, so have no learning except a book that seems to already expect you to know what it's talking about (I was skipped over college algebra). Thank you so much! I have suggested your videos to everyone in the online discussion for our class. The only thing I can suggest is to in the description, add a link for the "previous video, " as sometimes I need one video before the one I am watching, and have a hard time finding it. I hope you still read comments, as I see these videos were posted a long time ago.
