They used pictographs, pictures or symbols to label and ‘write’ and could read it, over time it turned into cuneiform, which is a more symbols used that got up to 600 symbols, and only few people were able to learn every single one (it could take up to 5 years learning them) and so they could read symbols and pictures they created to evolve into our writting today 😊😅🎉

How i think this works. Cave paintings are considered "writing" and you couldn't read a set alphabet or language so u would "read" the cave paintings and pictures.

they invented writting and it looked like lines with arrows in different directions (the letters) and reading, they didnt know how to read it bec IT WAS LINES AND ARROWS.😅❤
