Like yourself, I've purchased the specialised tools over the years, it makes doing these jobs yourself much easier and you know it's been done. At present I have 4 NTV650s (long story), plus others and do all my own servicing. The NTV is know as the despatch riders favourite in the UK. I love mine, very underrated bike.

You guys are actually making a mistake by only syncing at idle (revving it a bit does not count). One should sync these engines while **keeping the rpm steady** at around 3500rpm, as in that rev-range, different jets inside the carbs are used. You want a butter smooth ride while cruising. Who cares about idle. Therefore sync the carbs at whatever is cruising speed/rpm to you. If you sync at say 3500, the sync at idle might not be as perfect anymore but as it will hardly be noticeable in real life, who cares.
For the people who want to know what equipment they are using: that‘s a Boehm Vergasersynchrontester. They also have variants with 4 and 6 gauges.

Servus. Soll man nach der Ventilspieleinstellung unbedingt Synchronisation prüfen? Habe irgendwo im internet als Empfehlung gelesen. Nachvollziehen kann ich aber das nicht.
