Renting on TURO: 5 Hacks and My Best Experiences

I wanted to share some of my experiences with renting on Turo — the rental service where you rent people’s personal cars — and show you can use this service to have really amazing car experiences without spending a ton of money. I’ve been renting weird cars on Turo since 2015, when it was called Relay Rides. This isn't an ad or promotion, but a real look at unique service that has some pros and cons.

The tips and hacks start about halfway through the video — it just sorta ended up that way!

We don't need Turo to rent cars out, just use renters' personal insurance, they will cover your car much better and you get 100% of the money. Good luck getting your car fixed by Turo if a major accident happens. My Daughters Tesla has been in the shop since September 2020 and Turo is trying to find ways not to pay for it while I still have to pay $700 a month

Enjoyed the video! One more thing to consider with Turo is insurance. Your usual credit card rental insurance won't cover with this type peer to peer rental. Likely same with your personal insurance, so the only safe bet is to buy the insurance offered through Turo. This is all fine, just an added expense over a traditional rental. I just Turoed a 2019 Miata RF Club this past weekend, it was a blast! (minus the AC not working and car being in the wrong location at pickup...)
