I've felt awkward every time I had used the hack squat machine, to where I stopped using it as something to compliment my barbell squats because my body mechanics felt out of place. Regular high bar squats always felt great, hack squats felt painful and miserable, so I stopped using them. I'll try the reverse hack squats and see if my positioning and timing of my joint activation feels different. Those tips are always helpful, Thanks Alan!

I love reverse hack squats, get a lovely focused exercise, superset it with calf raises from the top of the footplate.

These really helped me, especially when it came to doing squats. Only downside is ripping ass during a set, and someone walking by. 😂

Nornal facing hack squat is MUCH better for quads because the back pad forces your hips forward yhe whole ROM. Anyone doubts this try both ways, training hard, and see for yourself which hurts your quads more

Reverse squat hits the glutes and hams for me cos the back moves . With hack squat, it's all quads except the buttwink at the bottom

Months ago, my shoulder was bothering me and it was painful to hold the bar for the squat. Normally, I would do 130kg for 3 x 5. I decided to try reverse hack squats. and very soon I was squatting 260kg for 3 x 5. I knew I could lift more, but I didn't want to risk injury because I have never lifted that heavy before.

Interesting normal hack squats kill my knees and I can't do them on the machine at my gym. Also I always heard that the reverse hack squat was only for targeting the hamstrings. Gonna have to try it, thanks alan
