I'm Irish so I have every right to despise the British, but Britain and certain British people (like king henry) are still insanely important considering Britain owned 25% of the world at one point

Colombus didn’t even discover the Americas, as many believe due to the myth. He did accidentally go there, in a failed quest to get to India.

But the Americas was discovered long ago, first by ancestors of today’s Native Americans and Incas and Mayas, who already established there more than a thousand years before Colombus ever reached the Caribbean. There were already *tens of millions* of native people in the americas before Colombus ever set foot on it. Where did they even come from? Asia, mostly, but that started a 15 000 years ago, a long time before Colombus.

Secondly, by Vikings and Nordic Europeans who went to Greenland and parts of North America in a conquest for more land, centuries before Colombus as well. The Vikings reached the Americas in the 10th century A.D., 5 centuries before Colombus. They called their settlements in Greenland and Canada: “Vinland”. Vinland means “land of wine”, since they discovered grapes in America (not native to their home part of Europe), and brought them back to Europe.

Then, even the Chinese reached the Americas in the 15th century, a tad bit before Colombus.

There were also the Polynesians, who are believed to have reached the Americas in 1200, by many historians and researchers.
