Ive been in sales for 25 years. Im no millionaire or expert, but i close with honesty, loyalty, and taking a genuine interest in my clients' business/personal life. Relationships are how you close sales and keep those sales for life.

People buy from people they like. As a salesman be honest, don't run down the competitor and be helpful to the customers problems.

I had a lady in a vegas hotel try to do this. She was trying to up sell my wife. After a while she said, "Who is the boss of the family?" My wife told her that I was. The lady looked at me and said "Are you sure about that?" I was immediately put off by the obvious manipulation. I ended up just taking my wife's hand and walking away with her lol.

1. Never assume the customer's budget; Present options.
2. Never assume who is in charge of making decisions; The authoritative person will always step up.

This sounds like a sales manager. Explaining to his trainees that if the customer does’t buy, you either didn’t demonstrate the value, didn’t get them to understand why they needed it. Or didn’t have all the decision-makers in the room.

Exactly. Those “one liners” are for AFTER you’ve done everything else right, and when they start to bring up objections you clear up all objections and they say “you know what, you’re right, ” but because of the whole discovery process not because you randomly did that if anything it would backfire real fast when misused.

Once you understand sales at a fundamental level and you apply sales to every aspect of your life, you don’t need one liners, you don’t need tactics, you don’t even need a script. All you need is someone who’s interested in what you’re selling and you can qualify them and basically freestyle it from there within a basic structure. I guess everyone thinks they’re a top salesman nowadays…
