When the blood in yor veins returns to the sea,
and the earth in your bones returns to the ground,
perhaps then you will remember that this land does not belong to you, it is you who belong to this land.

I do not own this song, I just want to share

I'm so glad that so many people like this music so much. Very grateful for your activity and comments.
Thank you.

2024 and still listening to this masterpiece! This is my absolute favorite movie of all time! I know eveyone talks about Daniel Day Lewis performance, and it was wonderful but, Eric Schweig was beyond words in this movie. He had few lines but, his presence was so intense! ❤

I am 76, near death and to me this great song is the song of life, with it's highs, it lows and it's continuing grace. I have great sympathy for our native brothers and sister. There is a great line from the movie Dog Solders. What happened to the American Indian was inevitable. The way it happen was unconscionable. A lesson on how not to treat our fellow journeymen in life.

So very proud of my fellow Scot Dougie MacLean for composing The Gael a masterpiece that fits this majestic film so well. His other great composition Caledonia should be checked out not just by those with Scots ancestry but anyone who misses their homeland.

The weight of matters at hand, solmenized wiith an ominous beat an incessantly haunting melody surely can be appreciated, presently

This makes me feel like i can do so much more with my life. It also makes me feel like crying. The hard times have tested me and ive survived, for this i should push harder. I dont want to settle, stagnation is unacceptable. I can, i will be better. For my wife, my kids, myself, and for my parents. For all those before me who paved the way and suffered. I must be a better role model for my sons. Good isnt good enough. Keep challenging, improving, pushing. this is not the end....

Saw this in a big theater and it was so loud you felt it through your whole body and you could hear the leaves moving in quiet parts. Everything about this movie has stuck with me all these years later.

I first saw this movie as a child, it remains one of my favourite movies (and pieces of music), but it hits so differently as an adult when you're in a relationship, the hope of having children some day and likewise, a deep awareness of consequences, of past and present choices and their effect on the present and future of oneself and those around/closest to us, as well as the experience of losing loved ones. It forces you to reflect on your own life. Such a deep, powerful movie.

I still cannot believe that this soundtrack did not win an Oscar! The movie was the best that year and still one of the best ever.

One of my favorite movies and definitely the best soundtrack of all time. I feel like this song has honor and bravery, something society lacks nowadays, every day it's getting crazier and people are forgetting their ways. The old days are gone but not definitely not forgotten

it's crazy how this movie wasn't even nominated and yet Daniel Day-Lewis has 3 oscars but not for this movie.

The very best in cinematic history... the power of emotions are so artistically played out....yet hold a deeper truth and meaning to history

Back in the 1990's I was in the military and we were dropped in the woods for several weeks. A four man squad we patrolled sleeping only four hours, night time was the worse. After it was over and we returned home I saw the movie. It was very eerie I could almost see and feel myself running with them in the woods.

Man. I was in high school when this move came out. I immediately went out and bought the soundtrack and listened to it every night when I’d go to bed. I’d play this song like three times before I’d let it continue. Not too often you get a great movie AND a great soundtrack. Absolutely love it still.
