There’s a small issue with this tactic though, yes it could surprise the shooter and throw them off but if you have a more focused shooter they aren’t likely to get baffled. Plus by stepping to the side you give them a clear view of the ring making their shot more accurate.

i would extend my hand three quarters of the way making the shooter think i am fully extended and as she rises to shoot i rise that extra bit more and block her!

Guys here’s another one, (I play league so it’s good for league matches) so if you’re a defender and your player is shooting mark them and jump up when they look focused and about to shoot it puts them off!
