I'm thinking of reading more Asian lit or lit set in Asia next year, trying to decide on keepers for my shelves, so Little Gods and Beasts of a Little Land sound interesting to me and I can't go past a Strout, Oh William might make for a fantastic audiobook. Intrigued with Manifesto too.
I' glad I'm not the only one who struggles with authors names that are unfamiliar to me. You do have courage doing that live!

Quick tip for Italian (and Spanish?) first names . . . when they end in the letter 'O' they are usually (always?) male; female names end with the letter 'A'. There are exceptions -- Luca, Nicola, and Andrea are 3 males names that come to mind. However, you can use this as a guide because O=male & A=female usually works

I read aloud to my partner too, Eric. Always a nice thing to do. Could I just say - public libraries as you know have been losing funding year on year. I am sure you pass on many of your books, but if you are not doing already, please donate some of your books to your public library. I am sure they will be gratefully received
