I had a rough life when I was growing up. Neglectful father and an alcoholic mother. Later an abusive stepfather. I left home at 15 and couch surfed, slept in cars, and even outdoors in a sleeping bag on a cot until I finished high school. Married young to a girl who had also been neglected throughout her childhood and it was a recipe for disaster and doomed to failure. Jesus kept working in my life, protecting me from evil and literally interceding physically to protect me. I was blind until I met a wonderful Christian woman from Texas who amazingly accepted my proposal for marriage. Everytime I hear this song I want to grab her and dance while singing it to her for showing me for 23 years, "what love is"!
