Why Tooth Cavities? - By Kishor Singh #shorts
You must have heard about teeth cavities. Teeth cavities damage your teeth and cause unbearable pain. According to the researchers, 92% of adults worldwide carry tooth cavities, and the reason behind it is the sugary food we eat in our daily life.
Whenever we eat something, the food remains stuck in our teeth and attract harmful bacteria. This bacteria consumes this remaining food and converts the sugar and carbohydrate present in the food to a type of acid.
Because of this, a plaque or layer of acid gets formed on our teeth. Although our saliva keeps on cleaning this acid plaque frequently, excessive consumption of sugary food creates the acid in high amounts, and it becomes difficult for saliva to clean this plaque made of excessive plaque.
This acid plaque then starts to damage the outer layer called enamel which is made up of calcium phosphate. The enamel layer is highly strong, but still, this acid reacts steadily and damages it to make a cavity. Using this cavity, the bacteria starts to damage the tissues and nerves present in the inner layers called Dentin and Pulp, which causes severe tooth pain.
