With my pl-360 if I ground the aerial it improves the LW (and MW a little bit) reception with a wire connected to the antenna jack. So the two circuits must interact, and it obviously works both ways.

I’m out here in a rural area away from most FM stations. It works well that way here but closer to the city I would have to carry a different arrangement for an antenna.

I noticed on one of your other videos the PL-368 vs PL-330 that the signals on the 330 were roughly up to 10db better compared to using the socket at the top of the 368 same with the 365, a crocodile clip from the MLA30+ to the telescopic antenna improves the signal readings on the 365 and brings it up to par with other radios that have SW antenna input.
