So I am an owner of a Mahindra e2o for the past 6 years. Here is my experience:
1. The reason I went for an electric car was two fold. I used to travel 44 km within Bangalore city for my work and I had an Alto prior to this electric car and I used get pain in my glutes pressing the clutch and brakes. The e2o is automatic gear.
2. I never had to charge outside my home.I have a 15 amps charge point in my car park which takes around 5 to 6 hrs to charge.
A full charge gives around 105 km (120 km but lets keep a safety margin of 15 km). So with this setup I would need to recharge a car for every 2 days which I would do in the night. So charging issues are non-existant in case you use this for city commute.
3. Charging infra are just coming up for inter city travel and this seems to the main issue.
4. With newer models, which have greater mileage as well as lower charging time, the adoption of EVs would start looking better.
5. The maintanence was minimal in 6 years and I never had an issue with the battery.

The battery technology needs to improve a lot
We are still dependent on lithium sources which are mainly in China and Australia (I have worked on this field and China has advanced battery technology ). The problem with batteries are after certain number of cycles the Coulombic efficiency decreases due to deposition of dendrites(which is lithium metal). Due to this efficiency will decrease after 400 to 600 cycles. So in order to avoid this we can shift toward solid state batteries. Another problem is when we recycle Lithium and reuse it the efficiency wont be as the previous on (Like it decreases by 20 to 30%). Another problem is the fast charging of batteries will have some effect but this is being taken care today. Even though this is a first step to Electric Vehicles there is a lot of scope for Improvement.
My possible suggestions
*Use of fuel cells and hydrogen in long run
*Use of batteries such as Aloe-Ecell which is run by using chemical energy from plants. If the number of cycles and the efficiency is taken care of then this can be the big thing
At the end of the day EV is the next big thing!

As of now, i feel that electric scooters makes more sense. We use scooters nearby our house so range is not a problem. Also, top speed doesn't matter because in country like India, it's impossible to reach top speed with all those potholes and traffic. However, as far as EVs are concerned, we should wait a couple of years for the technology to develop.

The main concern as we are shifting in EV the demand of electricity will increased. In India almost 75-80% electricity is generated by thermal power plant using fossils energy. For shifting in EV sector we need to parallely generate more electricity through renewable sources.

FEEDBACK: please use currency values when taking about money. Sometimes you talk in terms of INR and sometimes USD, it may become confusing for people not living in India. Using them more consistently - like instead of just saying 1 lakh crore (rupees), if you also say 12 billion USD, people from around the world are able to relate better, without needing to convert. Same goes when talking large numbers use both lakh- crore and million- billion, so that everyone can get the context right away.
Absolutely love your videos; I have personally learnt a lot from your insights. Keep up the fantastic work!

I appreciate the facts and your work. Analysis is incomplete without mentioning downside.

The downside is cost of the battery and service
