Love this car. Think it’s got a good balance between being sporty enough without verging on boy racer. Also I prefer it in three doors.

GTI is always be the standard of hot hatches. When you want to play safe, you never go wrong with the Golf, even tough so many better hot hatches out there. Just like Rolex in Luxury watch isn't ?

The regular gti doesn’t get the electronically slip differential only the performance pack version does

James I upgraded from a 2014 performance pack 3 door night blue gti to a 2017 white mk7.5 5 door performance pack gti with bresecia alloys, manual of course .even better than mk7 your review was brilliant 😊

The 3 door looks so much better but sadly the mk8 will probably only be 5 door like the new polo, you also very rarely see 3 door mk7's driving around, every generation it becomes more rare

I normally hate leases but this is going for under 200 quid a month. Bargain price and you can just rake it for 2 years

Nice review, GTI has been overshadowed by the R but I bet it's fast enough for most and will be taking a lot of sales from the GTD due to 'you know what'. Just as long as it's noticeably cheaper than the R on PCP it should sell well (this wasn't the case with the Mk7).
I'd highly recommend the Performance Pack though for the minor premium, the review car has 19" wheels, delete those and you are half way to the PP which gives more power, better brakes and the amazing VAQ diff, now that is a drivers car and on 18" wheels it will ride better than your test car too, win win!
